IRIS HANTVERK - WASHING UP WHISK - 1 WINDING

$10.00

THIS IS ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT, WHEN WE SAW IT HANGING BY ITS THREAD OVER THE SINK OF A DEAR PAL, WE HAD ONE OF THOSE "EUREKA!" MOMENTS. NOT A BRUSH, PER SE, CERTAINLY NOT A SPONGE, AND, DESPITE ITS NAME, NOT ACTUALLY A WHISK, THIS SCRUBBING MIRACLE IS REALLY JUST YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND. MADE IN THE SCANDINAVIAN TRADITION, BY HAND, IN SWEDEN, FROM THE ROOT OF A KIND OF BLOOMING LILY (OCCASIONALLY CALLED "RICE ROOT", "CEREAL ROOT", OR THE HIGHLY EVOCATIVE "BROOM ROOT"), THIS LITTLE GUY IS TOTALLY IMPERVIOUS TO WATER, GIVING IT SOME SERIOUS ALL-NATURAL SCRUBBING POWER. USE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN (AND WONDER HOW YOU EVER LIVED WITHOUT IT).

TAKE CARE: PUT THE WHISK IN BOILING WATER FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE FIRST USE. THIS SEALS THE FIBERS AND MAKES THEM EVEN TOUGHER AND MORE RESILIENT. CLEAN THE BRISTLES WITH PLAIN WATER OR THE SOAP OF YOUR CHOOSING, SHAKE OUT EXCESS WATER, AND ALLOW TO DRY WITH THE BRISTLES DOWN. WITH A BIT OF EASY MAINTENANCE, THIS SPECIAL WHISK CAN LAST FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

    ABOUT IRIS HANTVERK

In 1870, a small brush manufacturing company started in Stockholm and still thrives today. The core of Iris Hantverk's business is a brush binding operation where visually impaired craftsmen from different cultures have been making brushes according to an old Swedish tradition for decades.

Handmade in Sweden from oiled maple and horsehair, this handheld bath brush from Iris Hantverk features a comfortably-shaped handle. Soft and pliable yet very durable, horsehair bristles are ideal for bathing brushes; they create a luxurious lather when paired with good soap.
