Piment d’Ville is our flagship spice. The love of our life. Our California-grown Piment d'Espelette. This Basque chile powder is a little sweet and a little spicy. It also adds deep background notes to your food and a peppery finish. Our 1.2oz jars are the perfect size to keep on the counter. Use it as you would black pepper. Quick ideas: Season fried eggs, sprinkle on avocado toast, add to roasted vegetables This Piment d'Ville was harvested in Fall 2022. We've been growing Piment d'Ville peppers on our small farm in Boonville, CA since 2012 and have perfected the growing, drying, and grinding processes for producing chile powders. We got into the farm to jar spice game by our interest in producing California grown Espelette for chefs around the country. Now, we're here to bring it into kitchens of home chefs nationwide. Farm to Jar chile powder is the foundation of the Boonville Barn Collective. There’s no middlemen, no international supply chains, and no co-packers - just quality, hard to find chile powders from a husband and wife duo and their farm in the small town of Boonville, CA. Their main spice? California grown Espelette pepper known as Piment d’Ville. Krissy & Gideon run one of the few farms in the United States that domestically produces single origin spices. Nestled in the heart of Mendocino County’s wine producing Anderson Valley, their land is farmed with organic growing practices. What started as a way to produce a locally grown Espelette chile powder for restaurant kitchens has evolved into a venture focused on building community and growing great spices. The Boonville Barn Collective believes in the power of bringing people together around the dinner table and sharing great food.
