MARGE (Pittie)

MARGE (Pittie)

GREENWOOD, SC.......If you want to know what happens to a 4-month-old puppy that is dipped in burnt motor oil, well, these are the good pictures. This poor baby was dropped off at Greenwood Humane Society, covered with motor oil and terribly sick.  Her ears were full of gunk that had been poured in and left. The Owners said she had Demodex, and they had heard burnt motor oil was the cure.  That is an Old Wives Tale that has killed hundreds of puppies.

CHARLIE (Frenchie)

CHARLIE (Frenchie)

BEAUFORT, SC...Irresponsible Breeders are everywhere. The news is full of hoarding cases with Back-Yard Breeders. The conditions these sweet, innocent Souls are forced to live in makes me want to grab the responsible person and put them in a cramped, fouled kennel with no food and water.  My heart aches for these dogs and their suffering.

GHOST (Husky Mix)

GHOST (Husky Mix)

ANDERSON, SC.....I received a desperate text from our Contact at Anderson County P.A.W.S., begging for help with a Husky Mix that had been shot with a rifle.   I got as much info as they had, and after seeing the pics knew the dog they were calling, Richardson was not going to make it without our help.  Arrangments were made to get this sweet pup (we are now calling GHOST) to CVRC in Charleston, SC.

ANITA (Chihuahua)

ANITA (Chihuahua)

ANDERSON, SC.....Do you ever dread seeing the news or opening your e-mail?  That is where I am right now.   I got a note from Anderson, SC PAWS asking for help with some of their Abused / Neglected Dogs.  I sent a note back saying I would take their worst medical case.  They sent me a couple of pics and then reached out to say there was one that was worse than all the others, and no one wanted to help her.

BLUE BELLE (Pittie)

BLUE BELLE (Pittie)

YORK, SC......We got an emergency text stating a sweet Blue Pitbull was picked up as a stray and was Critical.  She was emaciated and throwing up and was taken to the ER.  X-rays confirmed a Bowel Obstruction that was not passing.  The plea stated this sweet pup had two hours, or they were going to euthanize since they could not afford surgery to save her.

GRETCHEN (Pittie / Aussie)

GRETCHEN (Pittie / Aussie)

I am happy to report that all of my Staff is finally well and can go out to see the Public.  Everyone in the South seemed to have the same thing, so hopefully, we will not get anything new.  During our illness, we were still taking in pups and running dogs in and out of the hospital.   Sweet Gretchen was rescued during this time.

NOEL (Staffy)

NOEL (Staffy)

We hope everyone has had a wonderful Holiday Season and are ready to embrace a New Year filled with much Joy and less hardship. We have been so busy rescuing and taking care of abused animals that we have not had as much time as I would have liked to do updates or posts for the new pups. It seems like the minute we fix one, two take their place. This year we have had a lot more dogs than usual that are in our Hospice Program. Their injuries or Medical Conditions are too Life-Threatening for us to allow them to go anywhere. With us, they get unconditional Love and are nurtured through their Medical Crisis.

BUCK (Rat Terrier)

BUCK (Rat Terrier)

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA.......Sweet Buck is a 12-year-old Rat Terrier that was picked up by Animal Control as a stray and taken to the shelter.  He was blind, had pneumonia, heart, and skin issues. Someone had abandoned this poor pup in horrible shape.    Besides the fact, it is winter and cold outside.

DAISY (Chihuahua)

DAISY (Chihuahua)

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA......One Man's Trash is another Man's Treasure.   That should be our Motto next to so many others I use often.  Holidays are the time we see the most abuses, and most animals discarded.   Sweet Daisy was picked up as a stray in Gwinnett County, barely able to walk.  Starved with a massive Mammary Tumor that had erupted.   We had agreed to take another pup that was already spoken for, and Daisy had no one.   One look and I knew she had to come to us.

MIA (Shih Tzu)

MIA (Shih Tzu)

YORK, SC.......Life Happens whether we are prepared for it or not when it comes to dogs.   One minute they are running and playing, and the next, they are on their back in pain or come in limping from their daily activities.  No one is immune to a dog injury that happens during an outing of running and playing or chasing a frisbee.    You don't have to be wealthy to own a dog, but you do need to be able to take care of basic medical needs and put something aside for the inevitable accident.
