ABIGAIL (GSD)
GREENVILLE, SC......It is a sad, sad day when we end up with a Critical German Shepherd Dog when there are so many German Shepherd Rescues out there. That day has come. We got a DESPERATE plea to help Abigail a three-year-old pure breed German Shepherd that was Critical. She was found as a stray with Necrotizing Mastitis.
WHISKEY (Tiny Shepherd Mix)
LEXINGTON, SC.......As everyone knows, we are the Last Resort for the pups we take on. Their e-mails and pleas for help go round and round in everyone's inbox. Are all the Rescues so tired from all the neglect they no longer look at the e-mails or take the phone calls? We are each broke from all the cases we take on. If the Rescue Community doesn't care, then who will?
SADIE (Yorkie / Dachshund)
MONROE, NC.....We got a desperate call on Sunday to help a sweet Yorkie / Dachshund Mix that had a broken jaw. It was late Sunday, and the person said the dog would probably be put down if no one could help this little pup. I had just gotten in from a six-hour drive and could not do any more traveling, so I reached out until I found someone to help with this pup. I got someone on the road and the long night began to get the pup named Sadie to CVRC in Charleston, SC.
FEATHER (Pitbull)
ANDERSON, SC...We got an e-mail begging for help with a beautiful one-year-old Pitbull Mix. She was picked up as a stray and brought to Anderson County P.A.W.S. When she arrived she had labored breathing and a hole in the side of her body in the upper chest area. It looked like she had been shot. The Shelter did an x-ray and was shocked by what they saw. This fantastic little Pitty that is as innocent as you could imagine was shot at close range with an ARROW through her chest.
RIFF RAFF (Beagle Mix)
HICKORY, NC.......There is broken, and then there is Riff Raff. This sweet puppy got out of his Family's Home where he was kept in an enclosed area in a Barn and was hit by a car. The neighbor said she saw him on the side of the road near a ditch when a Truck intentionally went off the road to run over him.
NUGGET (Dachshund Mix)
DEMOPOLIS, ALABAMA......We have helped a lot of pups from this neck of the woods. The ones we take on have had a terrible start in Life. This is where Archer and Brennah came from. We got a call to help a one-year-old white Dachshund Mix. We believe Nugget is a Dapple Dachshund Mixed with a Jack Russel. It appeared someone had thrown him from a car and he was found curled up in the bushes next to the road.
BLANCHE (Poodle)
FAYETTEVILLE, NC.....We got a desperate plea to help an emaciated 10-year-old poodle on Wednesday from Animal Control at Cumberland County. They were notified of a poodle that appeared to have been abandoned in the backyard of a home. No food or water was left to help this starving older dog. When the authorities were called, it was immediately reported as a criminal abuse case based on the condition of the older poodle we have named Blanche.

COLETTE (Staffy)
HAW RIVER, NC....Beautiful Colette is a 2-year-old Staffy that was hit by a car and taken to Burlington Animal Control. Sweet Colette could barely stand and was in terrible pain. A Vet saw her, and it was determined she had bilateral pelvis fractures. Since this sweet girl was a stray, she had to be held until her owner had time to come and get her. No one came, and she waited and waited until her Stray Hold was UP.
BRENNAH (Tiny Lab Mix)
DEMOPOLIS, ALABAMA.....There are three things I will remember about August 2018, the Heat, tiny dogs being Kicked, and most of the dogs we took in had Life-Threatening HERNIAS. I would like to think that Animal Abuse is down in this Country but sadly, it is not. The Neglect and sheer Anger toward man's Best Friend have gotten entirely out of control.
