WYATT
LAWRENCEVILLE, SC.....We had been helping Gwinnett County Animal Services when we got a desperate plea to help a beautiful Red-Tick Coon Hound that had been hit by a car. Sweet Wyatt had been lying on the side of the road and could not stand. I am sure this young, one-year-old hound was doing what his instinct told him. To sniff, and run and never look up to see if he was in traffic. The problem is, his owner should have kept him safe. Why get a hunting dog for its incredible nose and ability to retrieve if you are not going to look after him?
ZOOEY (Shepherd)
CHARLESTON, SC.....There never is a good time to post a disturbing post about an innocent, tortured puppy. CVRC contacted me on Thursday about a 7-month-old German Shepherd puppy that appeared to have been used as a Bait dog. His right ear was missing, and his left ear was partially torn off. She was covered with bite marks on his face, neck, and front leg. She has swelling from an embedded collar and a fracture in her neck.
MARIGOLD (Boxer Mix)
I am happy to say that 2020 is almost over. One more day, and we can put this year behind us.
ELI (Lab Mix)
GREENVILLE, SC...I choose to believe most people are good. No matter how horrific the abuse, it is a decision that keeps me sane. That decision is tested daily in the abuse we see. This past week, one such case has pushed me almost to the limit of my beliefs. I do not know how a human being could physically do such inhumane treatment to an animal. The abuse had caused so much emotional hardship to so many that I decided it was best to wait before posting the horror.
BURT (Pomeranian)
GWINNETT, GA.....Every day I wish I knew the facts that made up the Life of each dog we rescue. The only thing that matters to us is the dog needs rescue or will be euthanized. Those words speak volumes to us. It is now or never for most animals we take in.
REESE
LAURENS, SC.....Sweet does not begin to describe this beautiful dog we have named Reese (after Reese's Pieces). We rescued dear Reese after we were contacted about a dog that had been bought for $100. from Crack Heads that was injured. A Good-Samaritan bought him, so he did not end up in worse hands than he already was. The only thing that mattered to us was that he needed medical care for an injured leg that he was barely using.
DARCY
COLUMBIA, SC......I wish I had better news about a sweet puppy minding her business and playing when suddenly she broke her leg. It would be sad but tolerable and fixable. Accidents happen all the time. Unfortunately, someone took out a rifle and shot sweet Darcy in the shoulder, and shattered it.
QUEENIE
BEAUFORT, SC......We see it all at Noah's Arks Rescue and are still shocked at the inhumanity of Mankind when it comes to Man's Best Friend. Beaufort County contacted us about a puppy that was brought in two weeks ago, that was critical. She appeared to be an emaciated eighteen-month-old Pitbull that someone had burned all over her fragile body.
WOODY (Dachshund)
BEAUFORT, SC...Sweet Woody is a 3-4-year-old Dachshund that was an owner surrender. We were contacted late yesterday evening about a dog that had been surrendered and was at the vet unable to walk. He had a little bit of deep-pain but not a lot. Given he is a Dachshund, it was assumed he had IVDD, which is common in this breed.
NANNA
BEAUFORT, SC...There is no excuse for the abuse and neglect we see daily. We are so inundated with Abused, Tortured Dogs that we don't have time post for them. We will eventually, but our top priority is getting them the medical care they need.
We had just agreed to help Beaufort County with a poor pup with acid burns all over her when we got another request from Beaufort asking to help a sweet young dog with an embedded collar. I immediately said there was no way. I am sorry, but we do not have any room or funds. In the next second, I said okay and for the dog to be taken to CVRC in Charleston, SC.
I was in shock when I received the pictures of this two-year-old pup that had a chain with a massive hook on the end that probably weighed more than she does. I have no earthly idea of how Nanna is alive today. When you see the pics, you are going to be horrified. The Human Race is going to Hell in a Hand Basket. My heart breaks for this innocent Soul.
Why get a dog if you are going to tie the dog up and never check on her to see how she is doing. Nanna's collar was so embedded that it had cut a ring around her neck almost two inches wide. Beaufort County Animal Control picked up Nanna as a stray dragging the massive chain with a hook attached. I have to believe that someone has to know who this sweet dog belongs to. BCACS is looking for any information to find and convict the person that did this.
Poor Nanna is in ICU being treated. They are doing diagnostics and talking to the surgeons to see the best for dear Nanna. As we get more information, we will post it. For now, we have to raise funds for her medical care. Please, DONATE whatever you can.
