Otis Redding
Right in the middle of saving one dog from being put to sleep, I received another text from Beaufort County begging for help with a 5-week old, 5 pound Labradoodle puppy. The Owner brought tiny Otis Redding to the shelter and explained she was unwell and could not care for this young puppy. She said he was in excellent health and nothing was wrong with him.
Freckles
When we rescue an animal, we never know how they will turn out or how long they will live with all the hardships they have endured. No animal has ever survived such a horrifying beginning as Freckles. After being dragged behind a vehicle, our dear boy was found in a dumpster in Baltimore, MD. Animal Control was called when someone heard him moaning in pain.
PLUTO
GADSDEN, ALABAMA.....We got a call from a Vets office in Gadsden, AL. They needed help with a four-year-old pocket pitty that appeared to have a dislocated hip. The Humane Society had brought him over. Not sure what happened to this sweet pup, but he had left-sided craniodorsal hip luxation. Unfortunately, by the time they had reached out to us, the injury was now chronic and would require a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO).
WILLOW
EDISTO, SC....It takes a Village to save one abused animal, but it starts with one Good Samaritan determined not to abandon an animal they have found in distress. Sweet Willow was found near the Edisto River in a swampy area sitting beside a blanket. A Good Samaritan had to take a boat to get her because she was essentially on a swamp island.
